Hey neighbor — I’m Albert Mora, founder of TidyPig Cleaning.

I’m originally from Cuba, and today I’m proud to call Columbus, GA, my home. I study Double Bass Performance at Columbus State University, and while music is my passion, I also wanted to create something beyond the stage — something that could give me the freedom to support my family, connect with this community, and build a lasting future. That’s why I started TidyPig Cleaning.

The Story Behind TidyPig

I grew up in Cuba, where life was full of love and culture but also daily limitations. Food and electricity were often scarce, and opportunities felt out of reach. Through it all, my mother was my example. She worked over 30 years in the hotel industry, leaving for work before sunrise, yet still finding ways to provide more by baking cakes on the side. From her, I learned the value of resilience, discipline, and doing every task with pride.

My father left Cuba before I was born to search for a better future. He visited once a year, and though those weeks together were special, it was never easy to see him leave again. Over time, I realized the truth: my father could only stay a few weeks, my mother worked nonstop, and my entire family faced the same struggle — financial hardship. From an early age, I promised myself that life would be different. I told my mom, “One day I’ll buy you a home, a car, and you won’t have to work anymore. I’ll bring the family together, and money won’t be a problem.” I didn’t know how I’d do it, but I knew something had to change.

At 14, I moved to Venezuela to live with my father. It was there that I discovered music and fell in love with the double bass. Music gave me discipline and respect, but Venezuela’s crisis brought new challenges. When my father left for the U.S. again, for a better future, my sister and I had to stay behind. For five years, we supported each other through constant hardships. I earned a living through music gigs until COVID-19 shut everything down. Suddenly, even $5 felt out of reach.

That’s when I discovered Fiverr. With just my instrument and an internet connection, I began recording bass tracks for clients worldwide. It was my first taste of building something of my own. I learned how to serve clients, communicate clearly, and deliver quality work. Most importantly, I realized that even with almost nothing, I could create an opportunity. That experience sparked a question that’s never left me: what can I build that will last?

The Vision Ahead

In 2022, I came to the U.S. and got the opportunity to study music at Columbus State University. Very quickly, I fell in love with the beautiful community of Columbus and realized it was a great place to build my life and create something meaningful for the long term. From that vision, TidyPig Cleaning was born — a way to connect with the city I now call home, provide reliable and trustworthy cleaning, and grow a business rooted in purpose.

Looking ahead, our mission is clear:

• Build long-term relationships with families and businesses, not just one-time jobs.

• Expand into office and commercial janitorial services, bringing the same care and attention to detail we deliver in homes.

• Earn trust as Columbus’s go-to cleaning service through consistency and quality.

• Continuously improve our systems so booking and communication stay simple and stress-free.
